Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Privacy

The World for the World knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate you trusting that we will do so carefully and sensibly. To better protect your privacy, we provide this Privacy Policy explaining our practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by TWFTW. The information below explains our policy regarding your privacy, both online and offline. By visiting any twftw.com websites or sharing personal information with TWFTW you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

Our websites are maintained by authorized personnel based at TWFTW. Also, our websites are hosted by trusted and secure third-party vendors, to provide managed services: host, store, backup and essential support services for these websites.

Personally Identifiable Information Collected By TWFTW

When you visit our websites, you may provide us with personal information (such as name, address, email address, telephone numbers and/or payment information) that you knowingly choose to disclose, which is collected on an individual basis for various purposes. These include registering for an online course, downloading course materials, making an online or offline donation, registering to receive email newsletters or other materials, requesting further information from us about programs and services, submitting a form on our website, or simply asking a question.

TWFTW does not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to us. If you choose not to provide any of that information, we may not be able to fulfill your request or complete your order, but you will still be free to browse the other sections of the websites owned and administered by TWFTW.

The Way We Use Information

We receive and store personally identifiable information you enter on our websites, or give us in any other way, whether it is online or offline. For example, you may be asked to give us personally identifiable information in order to receive the information you requested, make a donation, get updates on TWFTW, or apply for a job. We will only retain personally identifiable information for the fulfillment of those purposes. This information is retained and used in accordance with existing United States of America laws, rules, regulations, and other policies.

TWFTW does not sell, rent, or give-away its email addresses or other personal contact information with outside sources. TWFTW also does not send mailings on behalf of other organizations

If you have registered to receive communications from us and later change your mind, you may contact us to have your name and contact information removed from our distribution lists. To do so, visit our Contact Us page.

Our Commitment to Data Security

Personally identifiable information is stored on a vetted third-party vendors’ server and is not publicly accessible. Further, personally identifiable information is only accessed by TWFTW authorized personnel on a “need to know” basis. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Additionally, sensitive data such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL and other industry standard measures, to provide an additional level of security.

Anonymous Information Collected by TWFTW

Anonymous information is automatically collected for every donor and visitor to our websites. This includes pages viewed, date and time, browser type, age, gender, language, country, and city. This information is stored in order to track what demographic of people are visiting our websites, as well as, the effectiveness of our websites, individual sections, and pages within them. IP numbers are not stored but are temporarily used to determine domain type and, in some cases, geographic region. We do not make any association between this information and a donor or visitor’s identity.

How the TWFTW Website Uses Cookies

As with most other Internet sites, our web servers utilize “cookies” to track a user’s activity within our websites as well as record the IP address of each visitor to our websites. A cookie is a small data file that is stored on your computer. A cookie contains a unique identifying feature that allows our servers to recognize you when you return to TWFTW websites. The recorded IP address tells us which domain you visited from (for instance, yahoo.com, facebook.com, etc.), but not your email address or other private and personally identifiable information. We use the information we record to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer our websites more effectively, and to gather broad demographic information about what countries and domains our visitors come from, and their behavior on our websites.

TWFTW uses Google Analytics to collect information about the use of our websites. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit these websites, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to our websites. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit our websites, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our websites, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our websites is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to our websites by disabling cookies on your web browser.

How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with our service providers, partners, and other third parties as described below.

Third-Party Service Providers

We have third-party service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including, but not limited to hosting, technical integration, marketing, and analytics.

These entities may have access to your information if needed to perform their services or functions. If such access is required, the third parties are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal information. The service providers are restricted from using, selling, or distributing this information in any way other than to provide the requested services to TWFTW.

Remarketing through Google Analytics for Display Advertising

TWFTW uses Remarketing with Google Analytics to advertise online. Third-party vendors, including Google, show TWFTW ads on sites across the Internet.
